Fall Friday Letter

Me and the wife were offered passes to the U2 stadium tour in 1987. By far the biggest highlight was the set by The Fall - for us anyway. Standing where we were, the impact of the mixing desk shenanigans was circumvented.

Being a decent sort, I wrote to let him know how much I'd enjoyed it. Surprisingly, MES replied.

Twice.

I received a second one the day after this dropped through my letterbox, MES forgetting that he'd already replied. The second one rambled across five pages, replete with drawings and squeezed in random comments. Unfortunately, the second letter has been lost to time and many house moves.

Discovering this today made me feel all fuzzy - appreciating that time when the digital hadn't robbed us of a closer, kinder analogue world.
